An exciting opportunity, following an internal restructure, has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated dietitian to lead the Medical Dietetic team at Barnsley Hospital. This new post will give you the opportunity to develop a highly specialist Dietetic service to critical care and medical inpatients, alongside co-managing the adult outpatient dietetic service. As the Team Lead Dietitian for Critical Care and General Medicine, you will provide supervision and leadership to the Medical Dietetic team, including Band 5 and 6 Dietitians, Dietetic Assistant Practitioners and Dietetic Assistants.

This role will include ensuring the safe and effective use of both oral nutritional support and enteral tube feeding, working closely alongside the wider MDT in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. Alongside your own caseload within critical care, you will provide highly specialist dietetic leadership to inpatients on the medical wards, including the acute stroke unit, gastroenterology, frailty, respiratory and elderly care wards.

As a Team Lead Dietitian, you will have the opportunity to represent Dietetics at Trust meetings, working in close liaison with the senior leadership team to promote excellent patient care and lead on the development of services.

You will be an integral part of our friendly Dietetic Department and have excellent support from the wider Dietetic team which includes Dietetic Assistant Practitioners and a dedicated Administration team. You will have the opportunity to lead student dietitians on their placements and support junior members of your team in their training and development. We are a proactive department where personal continuing development is promoted, therefore attendance on study days is offered in line with identified learning needs.

This vacancy is advertised at 30 hours; however, applicants wanting a further reduction in these part time hours would also be considered.
