The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust provides acute treatment and care for a catchment population of around 500,000 people in Bath, North East Somerset and West Wiltshire. Breast Unit Mammographer - Band 6

Hours per week: 37.5 hours between 8am-5.30pm Monday to Friday

We are seeking an enthusiastic, qualified Mammographer to join our busy symptomatic breast service at the Royal United Hospital in Bath. The successful applicant will be a qualified Radiographer, who is HCPC registered and have the Post Graduate Certificate of Professional Practice in Mammography. You’ll also have a patient centered and empathetic approach to your work. You will work as part of the breast multidisciplinary team in providing an efficient and effective diagnostic service. Good attention to detail, the ability to work independently and a flexible approach to work is crucial for this role. We are happy to accept applications from those wishing to work part-time or full-time.

You’ll be joining a friendly, supportive and forward thinking team in the RUH Breast Unit. The RUH has an extensive oncology unit and is one of few hospitals in the region which can offer all forms of treatment for breast cancer (including chemotherapy and radiotherapy) on one site. In Mammography we’re currently training a Mammography Associate Apprentice, an Advanced Practitioner Radiographer and plan to train a Consultant Radiographer starting in 2022. Mammography has been an under trained and staffed profession in recent years, so we’re committed to diversifying our approach to create exciting development opportunities for our Mammography team.
