It is also the only centre in the UK for a number of specialist services including Pulmonary Endarterectomy and Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty (BPA).

Locum Consultant Respiratory Physician with an interest in Thoracic Oncology

Department of Thoracic Oncology

Royal Papworth Hospital is the UK’s leading heart and lung hospital and an internationally renowned centre offering specialist care for patients with cardio-respiratory conditions.

An exciting opportunity to join our Consultant team and provide Thoracic Oncology services at Royal Papworth Hospital, the UK’s leading specialist cardiothoracic hospital has arisen.This 12 month maternity leave cover post in respiratory medicine with an interest in thoracic oncology is based within the Department of Thoracic Oncology at Royal Papworth Hospital.The post, which is available from the beginning of May 2022, involves care and management of patients being investigated for all forms of thoracic malignancy. You will be part of one of the largest and busiest thoracic oncology multi-disciplinary teams in the UK performing up to 500 EBUS per annum. The thoracic oncology consultants provide specialty focused on-call (1:4). Our MDT is a leading recruiter to NIHR thoracic oncology clinical studies and this post will also provide wide experience in clinical trials, tissue banking and research methodology.
