Occupational Therapist

Job Reference: 274-LPFT7631

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
Langworth Ward
Langworth Ward, Witham Court, Fen Lane, North Hykeham, Lincolnshire
£25,655 to £31,534 per annum

Here at LPFT, our people lie at the heart of everything we do.

We employ around 2,700 staff who are pivotal in our success.

Do you want to join a Trust rated by our own staff as one of the best mental health trusts in England, located in a county heralded as a fantastic place to live and work?

We provide mental health, learning disability and autism services to a local population of over 755,000 across 45 sites, as well as specialist services for children and young people.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working with Older People as part of a supportive and dynamic multi-disciplinary team.

The Trust is a great place to work as an Occupational Therapist. If you are newly qualified you will have access to a supportive Preceptorship programme. As a Band 5 Occupational Therapist you will have access to both individual and group supervision, and a range of CPD opportunities including further training relevant to the role.

This post involves providing occupational therapy interventions including assessment and delivery of 1:1 and group interventions to both male and female patients on a ward for older people experiencing dementia and acute mental health needs. You will also be involved in working with family / carers planning and enabling patient discharge from the ward.

Occupational Therapists within the Trust use the Model of Human Occupation to shape assessments and overall approach, however knowledge of the Cognitive Disability Model and the Pool Activity levels will be beneficial in this setting. You will be able to attend Practice Development Groups to learn more about these approaches and develop your skills in these areas.

We offer a comprehensive induction programme, and a good network of Allied Health Professionals working across this forward thinking Trust. We are open to discussing flexible working patterns which enable you to have a positive work / life balance.

If you would like to know more about the role please contact Ken Mbonzongwana Ward Manager at or phone 07779970323

If you would like to know more about support for Occupational Therapists working at the Trust contact Polly Blaydes – Associate Director of AHPs

We are leading the way with mental health transformation projects. Multi-million-pound schemes to transform patient environments and radically redesign community services are currently underway, as part of our commitment to reshaping the future of mental healthcare.

We believe the key to high quality patient care is a contented workforce. This is reflected in the Care Quality Commission rating us as ‘outstanding’ for well led and ‘good’ overall, and 75% of our staff recommending us as a place to work.

We offer options for flexible working and provide development pathways and opportunities. We have a proud partnership with the University of Lincoln and the Lincoln Medical School, which has expanded our academic offerings to nurture talent across the Trust.

We are committed to ensuring our workforce is diverse at all levels. We are currently under-represented particularly at senior leadership level, so we welcome applications from women, people with disabilities, people from black and minority ethnic backgrounds, and those from the LGBT communities.

We support and celebrate diversity. We have active staff network groups for Black Asian Minority Ethnics (BAME), Lesbian Gay Bi-Sexual Transgender (LGBT+), staff with Mental and Physical Lived Experience (MAPLE) and our dedicated groups for men and women. We are a Silver Standard Employer with ENEI, were in the top 100 organisations in the county within the Stonewall Index (in 2019), and have been a finalist for the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Mental Health Trust of the Year Award two years in a row.

We offer 24-hour services within our Inpatient, Crisis and SPA teams, if you are successfully appointed to posts in these areas or others that might have specified, you will be required to work unsociable hours and shift patterns.
