Job Reference: 321-SWF-3825886-B7

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Churchill Hospital, Oxford
£38,890 - £44,503 plus 5% RRP reviewed annually

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.

The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.

Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.

Many of our recruitment programmes use Value Based Interviewing to identify those who have the skills we seek, who share our values and who are able to deliver compassionate excellence from the outset. We know that this makes a significant difference to your job satisfaction and above all the outcomes and experience of our patients and their families.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, caring and highly motivated Therapeutic Radiographers to work at the Oxford Cancer Centre for 14 months fixed term. We have recently commenced our equipment refresh programme; one Varian Halcyon is already installed with the second being installed early 2022. The rest of equipment refresh involves 2 Siemens GoSim Radiotherapy CT scanners with auto-contouring software and 3 Varian TrueBeams, 2 of which will have HyperArc capability.

Expansion of the service is also underway with a new Satellite Unit nearing completion which will house 2 Varian TruBeams Linacs and a Siemens GoSim Radiotherapy CT scanners Swindon - due to open in Spring 2022.

Patients are at the heart of what we do so we are looking for Therapeutic Radiographers who can provide excellent care with compassion and respect. All Radiographers in bands 5 – 7 roles have the opportunity to rotate through pre-treatment and treatment.

We deliver a range of complex treatments including SABR & SRS.

We have several Consultant, Advanced Practitioner and Specialist Radiographers working in head and neck, TYA, palliative planning, review, lower GI, technical development, research, brachytherapy, SRS, gynae and neuro; some of whom are independent prescribers.

As a department we are proud of our strong culture of learning, education and support. We encourage Radiographers to identify and take up relevant learning opportunities for professional development. A comprehensive induction programme will be provided.

Band 7 salary currently includes a 5% short term non-pensionable recruitment and retention payment (reviewed annually in October)
