As an employee, you are accountable to ensure that you know to how to respond when you are concerned for the safety of a child, young person or adult at risk, applying the principles of the Family Approach to ensure evidence based analysis, risk management and appropriate action and escalation. SHFT require staff to work effectively together using the Family Approach to achieve better outcomes for adults, children and families. The Trust will support you in this duty by providing ongoing training, support and advice and have a Corporate Safeguarding Team who can be contacted for guidance and the provision of safeguarding supervision.

We are looking to expand our clinical team and employ additional RMN’s to enable us to continue to provide high quality care to our patients. If you are an experienced practitioner or a newly qualified nurse, then we want to hear from you.

Elmleigh is a 34 bedded adult acute mental health hospital situated in Havant. Elmleigh is split into two single sex bays, each with 17 bedrooms. In addition to these acute wards, Elmleigh also holds a place of safety.

Here at Elmleigh we are constantly striving to improve the service that we provide to both our patients and the support that is available for our staff. Here are some projects that we are currently working on:

- We have recently created our staff zone, this area includes changing facilities, kitchen, and lounge area for staff to go and relax in on their break.

- Our staff wobble room has recently been opened and is undergoing constant upgrades, giving you a space to go if you need a moment to gather your thoughts.

- The building work for our urgent care zone is almost complete, this will include a new place of safety and a seclusion room.

- Two separate de-escalation / sensory area’s are being designed, one for each ward.

- We are working with Brighterways charity to revamp our garden space and courtyards, to provide a more holistic environment for both staff and patients.

- We are taking part in a reducing restrictive practice project.
