It is also the only centre in the UK for a number of specialist services including Pulmonary Endarterectomy and Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty (BPA).

Resuscitation Officer
Band 6
Full/ Part Time – 37.5 hours per week

In line with government legislation, from 1st April 2022 all NHS staff working in a role where they will have face to face and/or incidental contact with patients must be double vaccinated against COVID-19. An exciting opportunity has arisen at Royal Papworth NHS Foundation Trust Hospital for a Resuscitation Officer (Band 6) to join our Clinical Education Team. We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and motivated team member with excellent communication and management skills to support resuscitation training within the Trust.

This is primarily a teaching and clinical training role; central to this role is the planning, facilitating and delivery of clinical and resuscitation training across the Trust, to a multidisciplinary audience, using a nationally recognised competency based approach. You will be working in partnership with the Clinical and Medical Education teams, facilitating resuscitation related training from basic to advanced (as appropriate), fulfilling the Trust’s training needs analysis ensuring compliance with the national Core Skills Training Framework.

The post holder will also support the development, monitoring and reviewing of audits, policies, clinical practices and governance arrangements relevant to resuscitation and other related matters, ensuring there is compliance and escalating appropriately any identified areas of risk. They will also deputise for the Lead Resuscitation Officer, representing the Resuscitation Service both locally and nationally.

This is an opportunity for you to progress your skills and knowledge in teaching and learning within the advancing field of resuscitation within a progressive cardiothoracic environment. The post holder should be a Registered Nurse, Allied Healthcare Professional or equivalent Registered Professional with evidence of relevant post basic professional development. An Advanced Life Support Provider or Immediate Life Support Instructor qualification is essential for this role as a minimum. Instructor/provider qualifications in other aspects of resuscitation delivery would also be desirable in order for us to develop our current services/courses. Ability to use own initiative along with excellent communication, clinical and organisational skills is essential.
