In addition to transplantation, Royal Papworth Hospital has the UK’s largest Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre (RSSC) and is one of five UK centres providing Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) to patients experiencing severe respiratory failure. It is also the only centre in the UK for a number of specialist services including Pulmonary Endarterectomy and Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty (BPA).

Receptionist

Full time -37.5 Hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Ward Clinical Administration Team under the Operations Directorate. The role involves following departmental standard operating procedures to provide a patient focused, high quality, efficient and complete administrative support service to enable efficient patient flow through the ward areas.

The key duties of the role are to assist with the coordination of patient activity through the wards by the completion of designated admission. This includes following trust standards for meeting and greeting patients and recording information on the Lorenzo system and escalating any delays to the Patient Flow Facilitator. As well as assisting the ward team by request/book hospital transport for eligible patients.

You will need basic keyboard skills and an aptitude for using a variety of IT systems together with a degree of flexibility with your working hours. You will be working as part of a team and play an important part in providing administrative support to clinical areas.

The successful candidate will need to be flexible and able to prioritise. Previous NHS experience is desirable though not essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
