This vacancy is on a fixed term/ secondment basis. Secondments will be considered for NHSBT staff wishing to apply for this role.

This is a national vacancy, the successful candidate may be based at any of our main centres in the UK, final location to be agreed at interview.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to join the national QA – Technology Assurance team which provides support, advice and guidance on Quality Management Systems and regulatory compliance regarding digital solutions and computerised systems across the length and breadth of NHS Blood and Transplant.

This role has a key people as well as technology focus. With excellent communication and influencing skills you will be expected to build good working relationships with individuals within the Digital, Data and Technology Services directorate, as well as operational functions, to ensure product safety, compliance and quality improvement requirements are understood and adhered to as part of major digital transformation projects. The role will require some travel as well as time spent behind a desk.

While providing support for the planning and implementation of development projects and being a point of contact for day to day advice and guidance, you will also be expected to respond to incidents, meet with regulators and manage audits.

You will have considerable previous experience working in Quality Assurance or a regulated life science / healthcare environment through validation of computerised systems used as part of GMP or other GxP regulated activity. MSc Degree qualified, or equivalent, you will also have a working knowledge of the relevant standards such as EU GMP and Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GAMP 5).

You could be based, by prior agreement and providing office space is available, at any of the NHSBT’s National Centres.

The normal working hours for this role are 9:00 – 17:00 but you may occasionally be required to work and/or travel outside these hours and on weekends, with prior notice, to support specific IT system releases.
