Requirements for this role:

  • Adult community nursing experience
  • Nursing assessment skills
  • Catheterisation skill, Urethral and suprapubic
  • Skills in administration of Medication: sub cut, IM
  • Bandaging skills
  • Wound care skills
  • RIO

Responsibilities(Included but not limited to)

  • To work effectively individually and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • To be able to assess patients referred for care in order to develop a formulation of their problems.
  • To develop and maintain specialist knowledge of the Mental Health Act and the Mental Capacity Act.
  • To be responsible for the care of assigned patients and to manage, direct and evaluate their care in an effective manner.
  • To be able to communicate effectively with other professionals about issues relating to patients’ care.
  • To escalate as required, reporting any incidents/accidents, and ensuring they are recorded using the appropriate method.
  • Work closely with local authority colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with other health care professionals and agencies ensuring a seamless delivery of services for patients.

Please note:

From 1 April 2022 it will become a legal requirement for health and social care staff who have direct, face-to-face contact with patients/service users to provide evidence of a complete course of an authorised COVID-19 vaccine unless they are exempt.

This requirement also extends to non-clinical staff not directly involved in patient/service user care, but who may have direct, face-to-face contact with patients/service users in the course of their work.

Applicants who fall within the scope of the legal requirements will be asked to evidence their vaccination status, or valid exemption, as part of the recruitment process.
