Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust was formed in October 2019, following the merger of 2gether NHS Foundation Trust and Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust. The two Trusts joined together to provide integrated mental health, physical health and learning disability services to communities.

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer a permanent Band 7 Clinical Psychology post. We are seeking an enthusiastic qualified clinical psychologist who can contribute positively and flexibly to a dynamic service.

The successful candidate will be committed to the principles of person-centred service delivery and be able to demonstrate strong professional and clinical skills. The role requires the delivery of an applied psychology model that promotes and supports effective psychological outcomes through multi-disciplinary teams. Consultation, teaching and training will form an essential component of the post alongside direct clinical work. The successful candidates will be HCPC registered and have experience working with service users with complex presentations, their families and carers, within a multi-disciplinary team context.

We have close links with the DClinPsy training at Bath University and support a number of training placements for clinical psychology, arts psychotherapy and psychotherapy trainees. We also have links with Plymouth and Cardiff Universities offering sandwich year placements to undergraduate student psychologists.

There are regular meetings of Applied Psychologists across service specific teams and wider professional networks to consider professional issues, service innovation and joint working initiatives.

The Post:

Acute Inpatient services, Wotton Lawn Hospital, Gloucester:

This is an exciting full-time post to provide clinical services to the acute inpatient wards based at Wotton Lawn Hospital, Gloucester.

There is a supportive enthusiastic psychological team consisting of three qualified Clinical Psychologists, a Clinical Associate Psychologist, an Art psychotherapist and two Assistant Psychologists. Regular trainee placements and undergraduate psychology placements are a feature of the team. Regular service development and research is undertaken in collaboration with GHC research department. Publication is actively supported and encouraged within the team.

The vacancy within the team has arisen due to staff promotion within GHC.
