Solent NHS Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults, children and young people. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time or part time, 12 month secondment/ fixed term contract as a Band 6 within the Safeguarding Team. If you are looking for a new challenge and chance to develop specialist safeguarding practice in a supportive setting this could be the ideal opportunity for you. We are looking for a qualified and experienced nurse, therapist or a social worker with excellent clinical/practice skills, used to working in a multi-disciplinary context.

The successful candidate will be supported to deliver a Think Family approach to safeguarding, which will include delivery of Safeguarding training programmes, advice and support to staff across the organisation, which will require you to develop close working relationships with members of the safeguarding children’s team also. You will work in collaboration with staff across the Trust and other agencies in order to keep adults safe.

This role embraces the vision that the experience gained by the successful candidate will then be translated back into their practice area. The team culture is one where learning and reflective practice are valued with regular group and individual supervision in place to support this. You will be fully supported to make the transition to this role and to develop your knowledge and skills in this exciting and important area of work.

Please note although this posts office base is in Southampton there is a requirement to work regularly across Hampshire and IOW to meet the safeguarding requirements of our organisation.
