Job Specific Location/Base: Highpoint (Trust Headquarters). Requirement to travel to Southampton and Portsmouth

Hours per week: Up to 37.5

Contract: 12 months secondment/ fixed term

We are looking for highly motivated registered nurses who hold a professional registration with NMC and either have a specialist qualification in District Nursing or significant community nursing experience. A mentorship or teaching qualification is desirable but not essential. You will have an interest in staff development and wish to share your experience and knowledge to develop the future workforce of community nursing.

For this post, you will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to the use of a car.

Service Summary

Working within Solent NHS Trust, as part of the Learning and Development team, the role will involve working across Portsmouth and Southampton, teaching, and supporting international and new nurses entering the community nursing setting. You will be supporting and signing off competencies as they are achieved.

This role is part of the international pilot looking at supporting international nurses with their transition into Community nursing. However, in addition to working with international nurses you will also be involved in supporting the education and development of any new registered nurse joining the community teams

As part of this role the organisation will require and support you to undertake and successfully complete the Level 3 teaching and training award. This takes 10 weeks to complete and you will be supported to undertake this in your working hours.

  • To have a knowledge of primary, secondary, and voluntary agencies within the community nursing field
  • Mentorship or teaching qualification.
