Solent NHS Trust Special Care Dental Service has an exciting opportunity to recruit two enthusiastic, self-motivated dental nurses to work full time (5 days 37.5 hours per week) within the Special Care Dental Service based at our Andover and Aldershot Special Care Dental Clinics. This post will also include covering our Basingstoke Dental clinic when needed. Covering other areas of the service may be required also.

The successful candidates will be providing support for the dentist and working with the wider team to provide an efficient service for our special care patients, including conscious sedation, domiciliary work. There is also the opportunity to work at our general anesthetic sites, Basingstoke, and Winchester RHCH hospital where we have sessions for our adult and paediatric patients.

The successful candidate will be required to be confident, able to work under pressure and the ability to communicate effectively, delivering care with dignity and respect in a kind and compassionate manner. Conscious Sedation qualification would be desirable.

Applicants must have the NVQ or Equivalent in Dental Nursing and be registered with the GDC. It is important that applicants are able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent IT and organisational skills are also an advantage and candidates should be proficient with Outlook 365, Word, Excel, should have competent keyboard skills, and knowledge of a dental software package would be an advantage. Applicants should be flexible and may be required to travel over a wide area of Hampshire.
