Solent East Children’s Community Nursing Team delivers nursing care to children with complex health needs across Portsmouth City and South East Hampshire including Fareham and Gosport

Solent NHS Trust is working with Portsmouth Hospital Trust to integrate the pathway for children between community and hospital care. As part of this exciting project that Solent is leading on we are looking for well-motivated, enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Healthcare Support Workers.

Your role as a Healthcare Support Worker will be to work as part of the nursing team to deliver day to day care within the community in a range of settings including the childs home and nursery and school settings. This can include care for children who are dependent on technology, such as ventilators and/or oxygen and end of life care. The role also requires workings closely with children’s families to support and empower them so excellent communication skills are vital.

Also essential for the role are:

• Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrating a high level of professional behaviour

• Excellent patient care skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Numeracy and literacy skills

• Ability to self-motivate

For this role, you will need to have a full driving license and access to the use of a car.
