Your NHS needs you!

We are working with colleagues across West Yorkshire to deliver COVID 19 vaccines to millions of staff and people across the region.

As part of this we are recruiting to ensure that the NHS can continue to provide other vital services that we all rely on.

We are looking for a registered Health Care Professional working in immunisations, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for the mass delivery of COVID-19 vaccinations. The post holder will undertake activities such as clinical assessment, dilution and drawing up of the vaccine from multi-dose vials.

We’re mindful that the health and care sectors are already under immense pressure so please have a conversation with your employer first before applying. This is where you come in as we plan to grow the team rapidly over the coming months by recruiting to a number of roles. We can offer these posts on a full time, part time and secondment basis.

We’re looking for people who can commit to a fixed term contract, and be willing (and able) to work at least 24 hours a week until the end of March with the possibility of further extension. As our sites will be open seven days a week we can offer staff flexible working options. We also offer bank contracts but in order to qualify you will be required to attend at least 2 shifts every 4 weeks. This will ensure you are fully competent at all times.

Our main vaccination services will be provided primarily from the Vaccination Centre at Elland Road Park and Ride. From time to time we also run pop up sites and there will be an expectation to work over multi sites.

We are calling on colleagues who are registered healthcare professionals with the following bodies to join our team and administer the vaccinations :

• nurses, nursing associates and midwives currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

• pharmacists currently registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

• chiropodists/podiatrists, dieticians, occupational therapists, operating department practitioners, orthoptists, orthotists/prosthetists, paramedics, physiotherapists, radiographers and speech and language therapists currently registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

• dental hygienists and dental therapists registered with the General Dental Council

• optometrists registered with the General Optical Council

You will be key in supporting the vital next phase in the health service’s COVID-19 response. This role will appeal to individuals who want to make a difference to the health and safety of our workforce and our local communities; who want to “do their bit” in the response to the pandemic and who want to be part of history in the making.

In all roles, appropriate training, supervision and PPE will be provided to ensure the safety of staff, volunteers and patients.

As well as the clinical competences required for these roles, it is essential that you undertake your role in a manner which embodies the values of the Trust. It is also vital that you are able to communicate information verbally in a reassuring and non- judgmental manner, whilst explaining information clearly to a variety of individuals.

If you have any questions about the role or wish to discuss it in more detail, please contact our HR Manager Kamal Kaur on kamaljit.kaur34@nhs.net. Shortlisting will begin on the 3rd of January 2022 and thereafter interviews will commence promptly.
