Gloucestershire ICS has a progressive digital transformation programme which is committed to enabling staff and citizens to have access to the technology they need. The ICS has a dynamic and experienced team working collaboratively across the ICS implementing innovative and progressive digital initiatives in a number of different areas: user centric design, shared patient records, Population Health Management and the implementation of patient facing technologies. The digital programme aims to ensure organisations have the technical capability to support staff digitally and has invested significant funds in infrastructure and training. A robust technical foundation has enabled the ICS to implement new technologies such as the shared clinical record which has been developed by clinicians for clinicians. The digital programme is committed to supporting user centric design principles and has used these in the development of a number of tools for staff and patients.

As the Head of Digital Transformation the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering the Empower the Person digital programme working with digital teams across the ICS to define the strategy and lead the implementation. You will be expected to work flexibly and dynamically across a range of digital transformation projects as they arise. Your expertise, knowledge and enthusiasm for digital transformation, digital leadership, digital innovation, and change projects will support the team to deliver ambitions outlined in the current Local Digital Roadmap. You will work with ICS colleagues to refresh the ICS Digital Strategy. You will be working alongside a team of motivated and enthusiastic professionals from a variety of clinical and non-clinical backgrounds, with people from industry, academia, and graduates from the NHS Digital Academy and the Topol Fellowship.

The work will be varied and may include: planning and delivering discoveries, development of guidance or standards, process mapping, user research, user centred design, digital procurement or liaising with digital innovators, collating and / or analysing data to build an evidence base for change, writing business cases or reports. This will support rapid testing and delivery of innovation at a local level to support intelligence gathering on what good looks like to inform pathway redesign.

You will have experience of planning and delivering projects and your capabilities in digital leadership are important. You have a passion and enthusiasm for digital innovation and change projects, a “can-do” and “innovative” spirit and demonstrate strong creative problem-solving abilities.
