High Intensity CBT Therapist

Job Reference: 301-LBG-21-129467

Inclusion Thurrock
£40,057 - £45,839 + 5% Fringe

Inclusion, created in 2002 is part of the Specialist Services Care Group of Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT).

We believe that the individuals and families who use our services should receive high quality, committed and inclusive services realising all the benefits a modern national NHS organisation can bring. To do this, we need a well trained and supported workforce and place significant investment in training and development opportunities. We have market-leading opportunities and terms and conditions.

We are proud to have dedicated, passionate and professional staff across our services. We employ a broad spectrum of roles to ensure we meet the needs of those we work with. This includes Doctors, Nurses, Therapists, Allied Health Professionals, Psycho-social Workers, Peer Mentors and Volunteers.

There has never been a better time to join Inclusion (and the Trust); take a look at our Benefits Leaflet to see what else we can offer you.

The Trust works in partnership with the NHS programme ‘Step into Health’, supporting ex-service personnel into a career in the NHS.

We are looking to recruit a cognitive behavioural therapist to join our newly formed Psychological Therapy Service (PTS) treating patients with more complex needs in primary care. The PTS service provides psychological support for patients with more complex needs who sit between the thresholds of IAPT services and more traditional secondary care psychology services but enjoys a close working relationship with each team.

Inclusion Thurrock are renowned for providing their staff with regular tailored CPD opportunities. Indeed, the Psychological Therapy Service staff team have CBT therapists currently on courses studying CBTp, MBT, IPT, and EMDR. Several team members will soon be engaged in a research trial supervised by Professor Barney Dunn in using a novel therapeutic approach (Augmented Depression Therapy – AdepT) in working with clients with ‘treatment resistant’ depression.

Clinicians are well resourced with IT and communications equipment. The service uses the IAPTus patient administration system and operates on a near-paperless basis. Appointees will need to be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, service users and members of the public, respect individual rights to confidentiality, and complete tasks within given deadlines.

This is an exciting and innovative opportunity to be a part of a new psychological therapy service to offer talking therapies to people who have been traditional under served with respect to psychological interventions.

Informal enquiries about the role are warmly encouraged. Please contact us on 01375 898680 and ask to speak to Dr Richard Pione, Principal Clinical Psychologist.

Please note that should we have a high volume of applications the Trust may close the vacancy early.

From 1st April 2022 all NHS workers in England with face to face contact with patients or who work in a clinical area must be fully (currently this is limited to first and second vaccinations) vaccinated against Covid-19.
