Older Persons Mental Health, Portsmouth

1 x WTE Inpatient OPMH Specialty/Specialist Doctor, St James Hospital

Solent NHS Trust are looking for enthusiastic doctor to join the Older Persons Mental Health Inpatient team in Portsmouth.

We are recruiting for a Specialty/Specialist doctor who will be based at OPMH inpatient unit, Brooker Ward, The Limes, St James Hospital. This is just a short distance from St Marys Community Hospital Campus. The post holder will have support and supervision by inpatient OPMH Consultant Psychiatrist. The older persons mental health inpatient unit is well supported by four trainee doctors who work across community and the inpatient OPMH mental health unit. Depending on the candidates’ experience, the applicant would be considered for Specialist doctor (former ‘Associate Specialist’ role) as per the new Terms and conditions of the service.

Our teams at St Marys Community Hospital have weekly half a day teaching, comprising of case conference, journal clubs, GP/FY doctor teaching as well as Balint groups. Newly appointed candidates will be invited to join these teaching activities as part of their CPD.
