An opportunity has arisen to join our small and dynamic clinical pharmacy team. Based in the stunning rural location of North Devon you will be close to the local beaches and Exmoor.

The purpose of this role is to support the pharmacy department vision - 'Getting medicines right by ensuring their safe, effective and timely use throughout the patient journey'. This is achieved through a high level of medicine reconciliation, discharge facilitation and availability at ward level for pharmacy interventions and advice.

You will join the trust at an exciting time as we work towards implementation of our electronic prescribing system. The post holder will rotate through medicine, surgery, paediatrics, mental health and technical services. The post holder will be expected to support clinical screening and accuracy checking within the pharmacy department. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the on-call pharmacy service and weekend working.

This is a permanent substantive contract, ideally suited to an individual looking to gain experience in hospital pharmacy. Applications from newly qualified pharmacists or pharmacists currently working in community pharmacy are welcome and we would support the transition into hospital pharmacy. The post holder will be supported to complete a clinical pharmacy diploma within the role.

The Government has formally announced that it intends to introduce regulations that will require most healthcare workers to be fully vaccinated (1st and 2nd dose) against COVID-19 by 1st April 2022. To achieve this the successful applicant must have had their 1st COVID-19 vaccination by 3rd February 2022.
