Therapy Support Worker Higher Level

We are looking to recruit a motivated dedicated and enthusiastic Therapy Clinical Support Worker to join the Early Supported Discharge Team for Stroke and Neuro rehab.

The post holder will need to have previous Therapy, Nursing or Care experience, good IT skills and some knowledge/ experience of working Neurological conditions. The successful candidate will demonstrate organisation, initiative and flexible-thinking, an ability to learn and work in a team, and enjoy a challenge. They will work with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to support patients to improve their mobility, fitness, everyday living skills and quality of life. They will gather core information and contribute to the initial assessment of patients. They will carry out treatment plans as directed by the qualified therapy staff and monitor progress towards goals. The successful candidate will work with other therapy staff, patients and carers to enable patients to achieve greater independence ensuring effective rehabilitation and safe discharge.

In return you will join a dynamic, progressive and supportive team. You will work towards specialist competencies and be part of a robust training and supervision structure.

You will be required to have a GCSE education in English and Maths or equivalent and need NVQ Level 3 or a QCF or equivalent relevant training. You will need to demonstrate that you can work as part of a team and that you have clear verbal and written communication skills. You will be expected to complete the Care Certificate within three months of starting in this post.

The successful candidate will be required to help deliver a weekend neuro rehab service.

The Government has formally announced that it intends to introduce regulations that will require most healthcare workers to be fully vaccinated (1stand 2nddose) against COVID-19 by1stApril 2022.To achieve this the successful applicant must have had their 1stCOVID-19 vaccination by 3rdFebruary 2022. Therefore, full COVID-19 vaccination will be a condition of employment unless an individual is medically exempt. We will ask for proof of vaccination during the recruitment process.

Please note that as this role involves working in a Care Home, you must have at least received your 1st Covid Vaccination and have your 2nd Covid Vaccination booked in at the time you apply for this post. This is due to the government legislation that came into force on 11th November 2021 that requires all persons working in Care Homes to be fully vaccinated or be medically exempt.
