Are you passionate about providing a patient centered high quality service to people with Parkinson’s disease? An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Community Neurology Service for a full time Parkinson’s disease Nurse.

The Parkinson’s Disease nursing service works as part of the Community Neurology Service to offer a specialist resource not only for people with Parkinson’s disease but for professionals, families, carers and staff from other agencies involved in their care.

The role of the Parkinson’s nurse is to monitor a defined patient caseload supporting with their diagnosis and movement disorders including PD, PSP, MSA, CBD and related dementia. This is an autonomous role with the support of a Band 7 Parkinson’s disease nurse specialist and is part of the Community Neurology Service.

The Community Neurology Service (CNS) is based at St Mary’s Hospital Community Campus in Portsmouth, providing multi professional neurological rehabilitation in the community. Patients are supported in a range of settings, including their own home, residential/nursing home and Community Hospitals and clinics.

This is a rewarding and challenging role caring for patients with long term complex neurological conditions.

You will be an experienced nurse holding a professional registration with the nursing and midwifery council.
