Band 5 Theatre And Recovery Nurse

We have a new exciting opportunity for nurses who are interested in joining our friendly, experienced and professional team working within obstetric theatres and recovery at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital.

Queen Charlotte’s Hospital is a dynamic and credible maternity unit and is well renowned for its women and children’s services. It is the only Maternity Service in London featured in Newsweek World's Best Hospitals 2021 rankings and privileged to have CQC outstanding rating.

We currently have 2 obstetric theatres and a 4 bedded recovery bay and provide an elective service 5 days a week. We are currently planning a refurbishment of our two theatres and presently developing a post anesthetic care skills workbook. Our maternity theatre/recovery department is committed to building a dynamic, flexible and enthusiastic team to help develop our maternity service and enhance our women and families experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who are enthusiastic, motivated and interested in this area of maternity care and wish to enhance their skills and knowledge to provide quality care to women and their families both in theatre and recovery. Our aim is to provide comprehensive care to women by a team of skilled nurses in post anesthetic care and theatre scrubbing. This will present you with versatile experience and job satisfaction.

You will be part of the delivery suite team and be involved in the care of the mother and baby supported and directed by the midwifery team. We have a multidisciplinary team approach to care.

You will be working in a friendly and supportive environment with the opportunity for further education. Support and training will be provided in the form of study days, one to one teaching and in-house workshops by a multi-disciplinary team, matron and team leader midwife for theatres and HDU.

Nurses must have passion and interest in this area of care and have an understanding of recognition of the deteriorating patient. Experience in caring for the sick obstetric woman would be advantageous. You should be willing to undertake further study where applicable as well as being flexible with their rota.
