Specialist grade – Breast Service (part-time 7 PA, fixed term maternity cover)

We welcome applicants to apply for this part-time (7 PA) Specialist grade maternity cover post to run from January 2022 for 12 months.

The post-holder will run 4.5 one-stop rapid diagnostic outpatient clinics a week and play a key role in ensuring the department achieves the two-week cancer wait target for new breast patients. The post-holder will also attend the weekly multi-disciplinary team meeting for breast cancer.

Applicants should have at least 5 years’ experience post MBBS qualification. They should also have broad experience in the management of new breast patients attending rapid diagnostic one-stop clinics and have worked independently in the outpatient clinic setting.

Imperial is the largest provider of breast services in North West London. The breast surgery department is based at Charing Cross Hospital, with some outpatient clinics at St Mary’s Hospital. The unit provides a broad range of services including daily rapid diagnostic clinics, a comprehensive surgical service which offers the full range of reconstructive options, and a well-established family history clinic. It is an essential service for patients referred from local primary care services as well as the Trust-hosted West of London Breast Screening Service.
