Children and Young People’s Outpatient Department

 

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced paediatric nurse to join the Children and Young People’s Outpatient Department (CYPOD) team. The Children and Women’s Health Directorate is an integrated Children’s Service incorporating both acute and community care; providing nursing care to babies, children and young people under the care of all specialities.

 

We have an opportunity for a Band 5 staff nurse (0.51wte) to join this small team which is part of the Acute Paediatric Department.

 

CYPOD coordinates clinics for children and young people for paediatric consultants and also for specialist services out with the care group, such as orthopaedics, cardiac and many others. We also offer a medical day case service, mainly for infusions and food challenges, and a number of nurse led services including Venepuncture, dressings and sweat tests. There is an expectation that the successful candidate would be willing to learn and develop these skills.

 

You will have proven post registration experience, excellent clinical nursing knowledge and skills. You will need to have a positive and innovative approach to caring for children and young people. You must have excellent communication skills, ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
