We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our Community Speech and Language Therapy Team based at Holsworthy and Bideford Hospitals and Barnstaple Health Centre.

The Team sees patients in their own home, in clinic, in care homes or in Community Hospital settings as well as via telehealth. As a member of the Community team you will be expected to work collaboratively with the other team members to manage the locality caseloads as needed.

This post offers the opportunity to:

• Provide assessment, treatment and advice to adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties arising from a wide range of aetiologies.

• Work collaboratively with community and specialist multi disciplinary teams and care homes.

• Refer and attend Videofluoroscopy clinic as appropriate.

• Attend regular community and wider adult SLT team meetings.

• Work with community SLT assistant.

• Work with speech and language therapist colleagues in the acute hospital and neuro rehabilitation teams to enhance transition and flow of patient care.

• Supervise SLT students.

• Be part of workstream groups for SLT service development.

There is an integrated acute and community speech and language therapy service for adults in North Devon. It is a friendly and supportive team with a strong commitment to continuing professional development, peer review, regular supervision, peer support and an annual appraisal system.
