Your Role

Service Line: Mental Health Child & Adolescent Services (CAMHS)

Summary of the site

Cygnet Bury is a large site with 14 wards. We have a Head of Occupational Therapy and 3 Deputy Head Occupational Therapists to support the different services on site.

Clinical: You would be responsible for the assessment and treatment of occupational dysfunction for 13 young people. The clinical role would focus on Primrose Ward a CAMHS PICU service. You will work with a full multidisciplinary team in a coordinated way to support each young person to develop their skills and move through our clinical model of care from admission to discharge.

Leadership: You would report to and deputise for the Head Occupational Therapist on site. You would also hold leadership and management responsibilities of the occupational therapy service of 4 wards within the Child and Adolescent Services. Each ward has their own occupational therapist and activity coordinator with OT assistants covering 2 wards. You will drive innovation and quality improvement further within the occupational therapy services.

When a young person is admitted into our services, our main aim is to help them to stabilise and achieve discharge to the least restrictive environment as soon as possible. Our services support young people who are experiencing a variety of acute and complex mental health problems, in a welcoming and nurturing environment. Therapeutic support is provided by a diverse and specialist multi-disciplinary team.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.

Requirements
