We are also the lead provider for a significant number of specialised services including Breast Care, Vascular, Cardiac, Respiratory, Urology Cancer, Paediatrics, Women’s Services, Ophthalmology and Genomic Medicine.

Our vision is to improve the health and quality of life of our diverse population by building an organisation that:

  • Is recognised internationally as a leading healthcare provider.

This truly is an exciting time to join North Manchester General Hospital.

A once-in-a-generation opportunity will see our hospital rebuilt and the creation of a health hub within our grounds.

On 1st April, 2020, we became part of the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust under a management agreement.

This is the final piece in a plan that set out the benefits of creating a Single Hospital Service for the city of Manchester, uniting multiple hospitals and a provider of community services.

We are part of changing the way care is delivered to address health inequalities in our region.

Collaborating with other hospital sites within the MFT footprint, our capabilities will grow. We’ll continue to attract highly skilled staff and we’ll be able to take a more sustainable approach to address the rising demand on services in the context of workforce and financial constraints.

People across the City of Manchester, Trafford and Greater Manchester will receive high quality care delivered to consistent standards , as a result.

This is a remarkable period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester, and one that provides a wealth of opportunity for all. Together we can make a real difference to the health outcomes, wellness and quality of life of our diverse communities.

To do this we need outstanding people to deliver services directly to our patients, and to provide invaluable support services behind the scenes.

Join us and you will be part of a hospital with an important role in our communities. We are proud of our history, serving North Manchester communities since 1876. One of the first things you will realise when you join us is the community feel and the supportive and nurturing culture.

While proud of our past, we are also excited about the investment and plans to create a new hospital with a modern community wellbeing hub that will continue to serve our communities for many, many, more years to come.

This is a vibrant rejuvenation of the site. We are looking for people who understand the importance of team work, flexibility and supporting colleagues.

Join us on our exceptional journey. You’ll thrive in our open, inclusive and collaborative environment where everyone matters, and is respected for who they are. We will help you to develop, and support you to deliver your very best work.
