  • To be a caring, flexible and supportive place to work
  • To deliver the best value for money

Due to an upcoming vacancy we have an Operational Manager role within the Children’s Community Nursing Service (minimum 0.6 wte) This is a time of expansion for our Children’s Community Nursing Service whereby we have recently taken on Special School Nursing on the IOW and are in the process of recruiting to Children’s Hospital @ Home in Southampton and SW Hampshire. We are looking to put this out as a secondment opportunity initially for a period of 12 months with the opportunity to extend. This will enable us to evaluate the long-term structure needed with the current service growth and as we align more closely with our colleagues in the East of the service line.

We would welcome applications from people who have recognised leadership experience and/or see this as a development opportunity to expand their leadership skills in a different service area.

We are looking for an experienced individual, who ideally has previously managed clinical/nursing teams or had a close working relationship with them. The successful candidate must have both the vision and adaptability to work across teams and service boundaries and lead system wide transformation of these services.

The successful candidate will be part of the Senior Leadership team for Children’s Community Nursing and attend associated meetings. They will inform an integral partnership with the clinical Matron and Service and Quality Manger in the West as well as closely aligning with Modern matron for the East.

These are exciting as well as challenging times for the Community Children’s Nursing Service as it goes through a period of growth, reset and recovery, alongside continuing to transform service delivery.

If you would like to discuss the position, please contact Tracy McEwen or Neil Smith as Service and Quality Managers to enquire at Tracy.McEwen@solent.nhs.uk or Neil.Smith@Solent.nhs.uk

We will contact you via NHS Jobs if you are shortlisted for interview. Candidates selected for interview will be contacted before the given interview date; therefore you should check your emails regularly including junk mail folders.
