Hours per week:There are full time and part time positions available

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with a range of work/life experiences within Mental Health, who has a craft or creative skill(s) that you can teach to others in a group setting.

You must be a good motivator and have experience of using Microsoft package and managing your own emails.

Solent’s Mental Health Services cover a variety of different services including inpatient facilities for both adults and older persons, community services including rehab, crisis and health and wellbeing, IAPT Talking Change and learning disabilities. Job Description

To facilitate therapeutic social and recreational activities for service users, with the aim of supporting their health and well-being and their Recovery.

To support Occupational Therapy and Nursing Staff in delivering individualised therapeutic activities as required e.g. support to therapy groups, physical exercise, cooking, walks, gym and supporting access to community resources as part of a bespoke activities care plan.

The post holder will need to develop skills in adapting activities to meet the needs of people who are in a low stimulus intensive care environment and provide a calming, de-escalating manner at all times.

To work with groups based on ward to promote engagement in activities and to provide low level stimulus.eg discussions, coffee mornings, social interactions, creative activities.

  • Communication Skills, written and verbal.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across a range of activities.
