We’re recruiting Retainer GPs to work within our Solent GP Surgery. We’re keen to support the general practitioners to work flexibly and stay working within general practice. We can support up to four clinical sessions a week.

What we can offer:

  • Salary £9,599 - £11,600 per session per year dependent on experience
  • Annual leave: 32 days plus 8 Bank Holidays (pro rata)

Who Are We?

Solent NHS trust has been working with General Practice since 2010. We have said goodbye to the traditional model of general practice and instead consist of a GP Clinical Lead and clinical ‘champions’ for specific domains as opposed to a partnership model.

Based mainly between the Royal South Hants (based within central Southampton) and the Adelaide Health Centre (in Millbrook). We hold an APMS contract and have a patient list of approximately 20,000 patients, striving to work together, as one team to deliver great care for our patients.

We use the SystmOne clinical system and benefit from being part of a community and mental health trust to support further integration of services within Southampton City.


We have:

- A growing GP clinical team

- Experienced ANPs working alongside the duty team providing a mixture of same day triage and routine care

- An great team of Practice nurses and HCAs supporting the team- providing health checks, chronic disease management and targeted clinics.

- Knowledgeable Clinical Pharmacists in addition to the PCN resource

- Weekly access to first contact physiotherapy (FCP)

- In-house proactive care team providing in-reach to frail /housebound patients
