The Ambulance Radio Programme (ARP) is hosted by the South Western Ambulance Service. It delivers radio based mobile communications services to all English Ambulance Trusts.ARP is now working with a National cross government programme entitled the Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme (ESMCP) which has been established with the remit of delivering the future national mobile communication capabilities for all emergency services. ESMCP is hosted by the home office and has representation from all the emergency services. Two new programmes have been established Control Room Solution (CRS) and Mobile Data Vehicle Solutions (MDVS). Both Programmes will need to closely adhere to the timescales of the ESMCP delivery to ensure critical communications are maintained.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as Programme Management Office (PMO) Support. We have 3x vacancies to join our PMO Team in our Barnsley, South Yorkshire Office, or our Bristol Office.

Main duties and responsibilities for the role include (but are not limited to)

To provide high quality comprehensive administrative and project, programme, and portfolio management (P3M) support to the Programme Management Office (PMO) and the wider ARP Team. The post holder will have responsibility for managing, updating, and maintaining PMO processes and providing a high standard of comprehensive support.

The post holder will assist and provide support to the ARP Senior Leadership Team, PMO, CRS and MDVS programmes, liaising directly with the PMO Head and project managers to provide a timely, efficient, and effective service.

The post holder will take responsibility for the scheduling, management, and dissemination of information around one or more P3M disciplines on behalf of the PMO Head and other senior leaders within ARP.

The post holder will be directly involved with the setting up and co-ordination of meetings, including the scheduling, co-ordination and distribution of papers, and accurate and timely minute taking.

The post holder will be a valuable member of the PMO team.

The Post holder will be required to:

  • Provide high quality P3M and administrative support to the PMO and ARP programmes.

  • Undertaking research and information gathering and processing to support P3M functions.

  • Manage office correspondence effectively and ensure colleagues across ARP receive the information they need to deliver P3M outputs.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, responding to requests for information relating to programme performance and ensuring accurate, timely dissemination of programme information.

Work closely with PMO colleagues, providing support at the same time as managing their own workload, prioritising tasks, and taking full responsibility for working independently and flexibly as part of the PMO team.
