Band 6 Caseload Midwife

There are exciting opportunities that have opened up in the caseload teams for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust for enthusiastic and motivated midwives. This will be for permanent and secondment midwives that have a passion for women-centred, individualised continuity of care for women and their families at both St Mary’s and Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea sites.

This is a fantastic opportunity for midwives to be involved in innovative midwifery by providing continuity of care for those maternity women who are vulnerable or with complex social issues. There is a focus on continuity of antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care with a named midwife and buddy for every woman. This role includes a variety of clinical care from bookings, antenatal follow ups, safeguarding meetings and conferences, on-calls for intrapartum care for your own/team women and postnatal care at home or in a clinic. You would be supported by experienced midwives and safeguarding team for vulnerable and complex cases with regular supervision.

There are two on-calls a day and night for 12 hours cover (8-8), a full time post holder would be expected to undertake approx. 13 on calls per month (approx. 6 night and 7 days). In regards to on-call, weekend and BH additional payments you will receive a 13.10% uplift on your salary to account for these enhancements.

This is a dynamic role and you will be encouraged to gain experience in different areas of the community to nurture leadership skills and help support progressive changes within the community and antenatal areas of maternity here at Imperial.

You must have the flexibility to travel and undertake on call duties.

Car driver is ideal.
