The Community Paediatric Medical Service (CMPS) West (Southampton and SW Hants) are looking to recruit a highly motivated and passionate nurse, full time (37.5 hours), to join our team.

Applicants from a Specialist Public Health Nursing background are encouraged and who enjoy working within a multi-agency team and enjoy a challenge.

You will be working as a Specialist Nurse for Looked After Children where you would be expected to deliver health assessments, refer to other agencies and provide ongoing support to the children and young person and their families. You would support the Community Paediatricians with Child Protection medical assessments, ensuring the process is child centered, calm and ensuring you are the child’s advocate. You will support the Neurodisability team deliver a high-quality service by providing parents and carers telephone advice where appropriate.

You will need to demonstrate previous experience of working with vulnerable children and young people which is essential to this role. Experience and knowledge of Looked after Children legislation, systems and processes is desirable.

You will be expected to supervise, and line manage clinical support workers and contribute to the training and development of other professionals. You will have good organisational abilities, excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively utilising electronic and manual systems.You will be innovative, flexible, and prepared to adapt to the changing needs of the Trust as they arise.
