We are looking for enthusiastic, innovative and motivated health visitors to join our health visiting team based at The Jarvis Centre in Guildford.

Health visitors deliver the 0-5 healthy child programme as part of a highly supportive and cohesive team, assessing the health needs of the population and putting into place tailored packages of support and care to meet client needs. We work hard to reduce health inequalities for children, young people and their families and we pride ourselves on being at the heart of prevention and early identification of health needs, helping each other to give families and their children the best start in life in keeping the child at the centre of all our care.

Health visitors are also integral to the wider 0-19 team and are co located with school nurses to ensure seamless transisiton of care and also work in close collaboration with our partners e.g. GP’s, social care, family centres and the third sector to support families.

You will have:

  • An understanding of recent developments and proposed changes in health e.g. 1st 1000 days and social care.
  • Experience of working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in assessing, planning and implementing programmes of care.
  • Excellent communication skills – written, oral and IT.
  • Experience in managing change and implementing new ways of working.
  • Passion for mentoring and in developing collegues and self.
  • A commitment to team working and enabling leadership.
  • The ability to set personal objectives and priorities, effectively manage your time and stressful situation.
  • Strong clinical skills including a good understanding of safeguarding practice and policies together with the ability to assess and manage risk.
