Bolton NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2008 and, in 2011, we became an integrated provider with community health services joining the trust. Covering a catchment area that also incorporates parts of Bury, Wigan and Salford, we deliver hospital and community based services from the Royal Bolton Hospital in Farnworth and from 20 health centres across Bolton, to a catchment population of 320,000 people. GP Digital Facilitator - Band 6

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust provides services across the North West of the Greater Manchester area ranging from hospital services in Bolton to community services across Bolton, Salford, Ashton, Leigh and Wigan. As a result of our partnership with Bolton CCG, to whom we provide extensive IT services, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic business focussed individual who is keen to be at the forefront of digital innovation within General Practice. You will be part of a dedicated, hardworking team delivering digital innovation and business process optimisation to all Bolton GPs.

Based at the Royal Bolton Hospital site and travelling to customer sites as necessary, you will provide services to 1,500 GP users across 49 practices in a fast-paced, exciting and challenging environment. You will support practices with the effective use of their clinical and national NHS systems.

You will support the long term strategic objectives of the CCG to ensure that the benefits of effectively utilising digital technology in General Practice are maximised. You will also work closely with the CCG and General Practice to identify key areas of improvement; creating bespoke practice development plans and where necessary delivering training, user groups and workshops.

This role requires a proactive individual who:

  • has excellent stakeholder engagement skills
  • is able to operate autonomously whilst working closely with CCG leads
  • has a sound understanding of General Practice business processes and practices
  • appreciates the challenges faced by General Practice in utilising and optimising their existing systems in a demanding clinical setting
