An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant to join our busy children’s community team, based at Darlington Memorial Hospital. 

Working under the guidance of qualified Physiotherapist’s, the successful candidate will deliver physiotherapy treatment programs to children and young people residing in County Durham and Darlington. You will work in a variety of settings (clinics, home, nurseries, schools) both independently and alongside qualified members of staff and other professionals.  You will have a vital role delivering treatment programs to children accessing special schools within the South of the county (see job description for more detail). 

The posts will be supported by a well-established team possessing a wealth of clinical expertise and knowledge. There will be opportunity for training and development within the area of children’s physiotherapy as well as regular supervision and appraisal in line with trust policy. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate good communication skills, flexible approach, and problem solving skills and will be able to travel independently across the locality.

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

  • youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
  • the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.
