Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust are expanding their peer support service.

Peer support is when people use their own lived experiences to support others who are having similar experiences.

We are looking for 'Carer Peer Support Workers' to work within our Early Intervention Service - NSTEP. NSTEP is for people aged between 14-34 years who are having their first episode of psychosis.

Carer Peer Support Workers in NSTEP have experience of caring for someone who has experienced psychosis. The aim of the role is to support other families and carers of people experiencing psychosis directly, including one to one, in small family groups and wider carer groups.

The role is to complement the support given by healthcare professionals to inspire hope and empower families and other carers to support their family member to reach their own individual recovery goals and make sense of their personal recovery journey as well as manage their own wellbeing.

There are opportunities in the North of the County and the South of the County depending on the preferences of the successful candidates.

You do not need to have prior peer support experience or training to apply for this role, however you will be expected to attend a peer support worker course if you have not undertaken prior training.
