In addition to transplantation, Royal Papworth Hospital has the UK’s largest Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre (RSSC) and is one of five UK centres providing Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) to patients experiencing severe respiratory failure. It is also the only centre in the UK for a number of specialist services including Pulmonary Endarterectomy and Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty (BPA).

Band 4 – PA to the R&D Senior Management Team
Full time - 37.5 hours
Fixed Term - 12 Months

Papworth Hospital is an internationally renowned centre offering specialist care for patients with cardio-respiratory conditions.  Our focus is providing the highest standard of care.

We aim to push the boundaries of our profession and are looking for an efficient and enthusiastic individual to join the R&D team as a PA to the Senior R&D Management Team.  We are looking to appoint an efficient and enthusiastic individual who will enjoy the challenge of working in a busy research office providing administration and secretarial support to the senior management team and the wider department.

The post is a fixed term post for 12 months.

This role involves providing a high quality, patient focused, comprehensive secretarial and administrative support service, with particular responsibility as the PA to the Senior R&D Management Team and the department.

The key duties of the role revolve around diary management, responsibility for scheduling meetings and seminars as required including booking of rooms, IT resources, catering requirements, production of draft agendas, taking and producing formal minutes of meetings (often of a complex, sensitive, financial nature). 

The role also involves liaising with senior clinical and non-clinical staff and other NHS organisations, typing, maintaining electronic and paper based databases and contributing to the administrative workload of the department. This role also involves the supervision of staff.  The role is specifically responsible for the management of the department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and also the administrational support of the department’s eRoster

This post involves working with a multi-disciplinary team including clinicians, managers and other administrative staff in a professional manner in written, verbal and electronic formats.  The post is primarily based at our Huntingdon base but may be required to work at the Cambridge hospital site.
