Job Specific Location/Base:Highpoint Venue, Burseldon Road, Southampton, SO19 8BR, although currently working remotely / at home

Hours per week:15hrs

Solent NHS Trust is looking to fill a part-time (15hrs per week - ideally two whole days) permenant vacancy within the Information Management, Assurance and Compliance Team (Information Governance), as an Information Assurance Officer. The Team already employees a number of Information Assurance Officers and if successful you would be working alongside them, as the team expands its portfolio across the Trust. In particular the team is expanding its support across the Trust in Information Management and Security Assurance. It is an exciting time to join this team, as we work together to further develope and expand the team and our support to both services and patients.

An ideal candidate will have experience of providing senior business support and service engagement to effect and / or support change.

For this post, you will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to the use of a car.

The Information Management, Assurance and Compliance Team’s main responsibilities and duties are to work and support all staff and services within the Trust, to ensure that they are educated in Data Protection and supporting legislation, that this is adhered to and we support our staff in protecting all data held by the organisation. The main purpose of the team is to ensure compliance, develop a learning culture around information compliance, quality improvement and support all services within the Trust in the workstreams assigned to the team (as outlined in the Job Description)

Additionally, we are here to support patients, staff and the wider community, in understanding and exercising their rights, accessing information they are entitled to and providing an open and transparent environment, with regards to how we process data.

Personal Skills/Qualities

  • Educated to Degree Level (equivalent) or equivalent demonstrable experience in Information Governance
  • Experience, knowledge and / or understanding of Data Protection
  • Experience of communicating with staff at all levels
  • Experience of managing projects / taking the lead in key areas of work
