Getting back to the job that you love may be easier than you think.

We have a number of opportunities for previously Registered Nurses (adult & child incl. NICU) and Midwives who would like to undertake a Return to Practice programme and resume their career with the NHS. We have opportunities in all clinical areas but are particularly looking to recruit to peri-operative care which includes theatres, anaesthetics & recovery and to cancer services.

The Return to Practice programme offered by the University of Plymouth runs over 16 weeks and involves a blended learning approach including: taught days, web based days and independent study.

The next programme will start 16Th February 2022.

Selection process- you will be interviewed collaboratively with both University of Plymouth and University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHP). If successful, you will be employed on a band 3 training contract in a supernumerary role to enable you to complete the 450 practice hours, the programme fees are funded by HEE.

Upon successful completion of the programme and in-line with current vacancies you will be offered a substantive Band 5 post within UHP.

Once re-registration with the NMC has been successfully achieved the Trust will continue to support your development as a Registered Nurse /Midwife through a Preceptorship programme to help transition and provide continuous professional development (CPD) to support future re-validation.
