Make a difference with us

If you are looking for somewhere you can make a real difference and are passionate about keeping people safe, well and out of hospital, a career with us may be just what you’re looking for. At Solent NHS Trust, we strive to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of our communities.

We are proud to be an organisation which is focused on our people and we welcome people who share our values to come and work with us.

  • To deliver great care that is safe, simple and easy to access
  • To be a caring, flexible and supportive place to work
  • To deliver the best value for money

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic administrator for a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, which is worked Monday – Friday. The post is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

The role includes providing administration support to the School Nursing team, based in the Civic Offices in Portsmouth, to deliver the Flu vaccination programme in schools for several months of the year, so the ability to travel between sites is essential. On completion of the Flu programme, the candidate will be providing general administration support within the Child and Families service in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.

The successful applicant will carry out a range of general administration tasks; answering telephone queries, arranging appointments, updating resources and using the clinical records system (SystmOne) accurately and efficiently. This is an important role within the team as you may be the first point of contact with clients, so an excellent approach to customer service is essential.

Previous clerical experience is desirable, preferably working with members of the public, ideally in a health care environment. Knowledge of SystmOne is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

In addition applicants must have:

  • The ability to work in a busy environment and prioritise work
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative
  • The ability to work flexibly according to the needs of the service
  • IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.

If you are committed to providing high quality patient care, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, we look forward to receiving your application.
