An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term Senior Dental Officer Post to cover maternity for a year for our Special Care Dental Service within the Solent NHS Trust.

Are you an enthusiastic, flexible and reliable team player with excellent communication skills?

We are looking for an experienced and motivated dentist to join our dynamic Special Care Dental Service to deliver routine and urgent dental care to adults and children who are unable to access care in the General Dental Services due to their additional needs. This includes adults and children with a physical, sensory, intellectual, mental, medical, social impairment or disability and individuals with behavioural difficulties or dental anxiety.

Care will be provided to patients referred to or under the long-term care of the service, under local anesthesia, conscious sedation or general anesthesia. Care is provided in clinic and domiciliary settings or in secondary care in partnership with other Trusts.

A favorable salary to General Dental Practice with the added bonus of paid leave and no laboratory bills.

We are offering the chance to work in our dental surgeries with support of experienced dental nurses and Therapists to assist you in achieving your UDA target and working within NHS Regulations.

You will also receive support with mandatory training and CPD.

There will be opportunities for the post holder to develop special interests and they will be supported by an enthusiastic and dedicated team, including Specialists in Special Care Dentistry and Paediatric Dentistry and clinicians with experience in providing care under GA or Sedation.

You are required to be GDC registered and have an active performer number.
