We are looking for enthusiastic Healthcare Support Workers to join our Community Older Persons Mental Health Team which provides care to patients in the community, based at St Mary’s Community Campus in Portsmouth. This is a part time position for 22.5 hours p/week.

Older Persons Mental Health receive referrals from GP for patients suffering with memory issues or functional illness such as depession/anxiety. They are assessed by the Nurses and Dr's, the role of the HCSW would be to monitor the patient according to the presentation.

The Community is a dynamic team and a wonderful environment to learn on the job and develop new skills.

We are looking for individuals with good communication skills along with a flexible and responsive approach as well as a genuine interest in working within this rewarding area of mental health nursing.

As you progress there are opportunities for further professional development, with apprenticeships for both nursing associate and nursing pathways. However, this is based on a further application process. The team are very supportive and will help and guide with any learning need.

The OPMH service is open Monday - Friday 9-5pm.

The team works collaboratively to offer a seamless journey for patients based upon their needs and risks to ensure that care and treatment is assessed and provided with an emphasis on keeping people in their own homes.

Some previous caring experience is desirable though not essential.

For this post, you will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to the use of a car.
