The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust’s Staying Well Service is incredibly excited to offer a new opportunity for a Wellbeing Lead to join the team.

The person in this role will support the continued development of the wellbeing offering throughout the Trust.

Do you want to make a real difference and make a significant contribution to the promotion of proactive ways of wellbeing, helping and enhancing the wellbeing of our people?

With the Trust experiencing record high demand and remaining in REAP Black for some months, the wellbeing of our People has been and is inevitably going to continue to be impacted.

We are looking for someone who is ‘hands on’, approachable a passionate, innovative and a creative individual who can drive forward the proactive wellbeing agenda in the Trust through new initiatives, education, awareness training and health promotion.

This exciting opportunity is funded by the NHSE & I funding for wellbeing and if you are interested in taking on more responsibility as a leader/manager and have a passion for wellbeing this could be the role for you. The role would suit someone who would like to broaden their experience, develop their knowledge of wellbeing in the organisation and is seeking an opportunity to take on new challenges.

In agreement with the Head of Wellbeing the post holder will contribute to the day to day management of our Wellbeing Supporters to ensure safe and effective practice is achieved and needs lead/person centred support and intervention is offered.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Head of Wellbeing, and liaise with local management teams as well as members of our People Directorate to provide advice in an integrated and seamless way taking a people-centre approach based on an understanding of circumstances and needs. They will act as a point of contact for both employees and managers and draw on expertise within the Trust to enable them to provide the necessary support at all levels.

The Wellbeing Lead will promote a proactive health and wellbeing approach to support our Staying Well Service and management teams in order to prevent crisis situations and to bring both awareness and education to our people. In addition, they will be required to work with external organisations in order to broaden the wellbeing offering for people in their Trust area.

This is an opportunity for a motivated, driven and enthusiastic leader with a passion for staff wellbeing to be part of organisational, cultural change and development, ensuring the right support is offered to our people at the right time.

We are open to discuss the possibility of flexible working, and will consider reduced hours, remote working or flexible start and finish times for example. If successful at shortlisting, individuals will be invited to explore what’s possible for them to support their work life balance as well as enabling individuals and the Trust to fulfil the requirements of the role.
