About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Dorking Healthcare’s Outpatients Department for an Operational Support person to join the team permanently at Dorking Healthcare. The Operational Support role is a key role in the Outpatients Service and will be involved in supporting all teams to ensure the smooth running of the department and an improved patient experience.

The role is a varied one and the postholder will have some specific duties that they are accountable for, as well as providing ad-hoc support to the various Outpatient teams as the need arises, such as providing sickness and holiday cover or cancelling and filling clinics at short notice.  As the person appointed will work with different teams within Outpatients, they will need to gain a good understanding of the different duties and roles within each team.

Specific duties include working with the Outpatient team leaders and the HR department to review job applicants, schedule and conduct interviews and other related duties to do with recruiting and on-boarding staff.   In addition, the postholder will work with team leaders on the investigation and resolution of any incidents, patient concerns or complaints including preparing relevant paperwork.  The person will also assist with running and organising clinics along with helping with the introduction of new services and equipment, creating new Standard Operating Procedures and reviewing and updating existing ones.

It is essential that the post holder has excellent attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy in their work, problem solving skills and can prioritise and organise their own workload, exercise initiative and independent judgement whilst maintaining a high level of confidentiality and diplomacy at all times.
