The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RD&E) provides Acute and Community services across Exeter and East Devon serving a population of more than 450,000 people. The main hospital site is in the historical Cathedral city of Exeter that has abundant family amenities and beautiful surrounding countryside. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated full or part time Band 6 Paramedics, Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to join our Urgent Community Response team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking service with high morale and a commitment to supporting people at home. The Seaton, Axminster and Sidmouth Cluster has an attractive mix of rural villages and coastal towns whilst being only 30mins drive from Exeter. The Cluster is set in a landscape of outstanding natural beauty, and part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty provides the landscape for coastal walks, fishing harbours and beautiful beaches. Inland, the market town of Axminster has excellent rail links to London and Exeter.

 

Our existing team achieve the lowest standardised admission rates in Devon, indeed, amongst the lowest in England. You will be part of this multi-disciplinary, integrated team and work with patients in their own homes to avoid unnecessary admissions to hospital.

 

The shifts we are offering are flexiblehours, covering 08:00 to 20:00, seven days per week. We understand that juggling family and professional work commitments can be difficult for some people, so within this, we are offering the opportunity to work evening shifts, which will include cross-over with day time staff. We are flexible around start times, which can include a range from 15:30 to 16:00 to allow for school pick-up if people find that helpful. Finish times are set at 20:00. There is a commitment to working one in four weekends. Home visits will be completed with another member of the team and can be organised and written-up using our computerised patient record system (MyCare). When there are no visits planned you will be based on Sidmouth ward working as support staff.
