North Middlesex University Hospital is one of London’s busiest acute hospitals, serving more than 350,000 people living in Enfield and Haringey and the surrounding areas, including Barnet and Waltham Forest.

We are an integrated provider with a full range of adult, elderly and children's services across medical and surgical disciplines including community 0-19 yr old services in Enfield. Our specialist services include stroke, HIV/AIDS, cardiology, haematology, diabetes, fertility and orthopaedics. Our sickle cell and thalassaemia department is nationally recognised as a leading centre for these diseases. Every day, on average, we see 500 patients in A&E; 15 babies are born in our maternity unit; about 450 inpatients are cared for on our wards; about 50 patients have major or minor surgery in one of our 10 operating theatres; and about 800 people attend our outpatients clinics.

We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, ambitious diagnostic radiographer to join our friendly and forward-thinking Radiology team at the North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust (NMUH). This is an ideal opportunity for an HCPC registered radiographer wishing to increase their radiographic experience and expertise in a bustling and team-focused department.

We are looking for a highly motivated and driven radiographer with a desire and aptitude for learning. This is an opportunity to be part of our dedicated workforce in a Trust where innovation, patient care and quality are at the forefront of our practice and strategic ambitions.

In addition to our Outer London Weighting, our internal training and support have long been a draw for candidates as it has enabled numerous radiographers to develop the necessary skills for career progression and advanced practice.

North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is an acute district general hospital based in North London that serves the community in Enfield, Haringey and beyond.

Our Radiology department is based on two levels within the new build of the hospital, supporting a broad range of services that include A&E, Paediatrics, Stroke treatment and rehabilitation, HIV medicine and a Sickle Cell Disorder service.

At NMUH we are well-equipped with 2 CT scanners, 1 3T MRI scanner, a digital interventional theatre, 2 fluoroscopy rooms, 5 digital general X-ray rooms, 3 general Ultrasound rooms and 3 Obstetrics and Gynecology Ultrasound rooms that are all linked to our state of the art PACS. We provide a 24/7 CT and X-ray service to cover the Emergency Department and acute services.

The wide variety of specialties at NMUH will ensure that you receive a thorough grounding in general and trauma radiography, allowing you to build your clinical portfolio in a friendly and supportive team.

Entry into our preceptorship programme equips you to deal with difficult situations that life in the NHS throws at you. We have an excellent track record of promoting our staff, and a long and successful tradition of radiographer training and role extension. Current radiographer role extensions include skeletal, chest and abdomen reporting, as well as Hysterosalpinogram and Ultrasound. We also have radiographer-led fluoroscopy and Proctogram lists and are working towards other role extensions such as radiographer-led biopsy sessions in Mammography.
