The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RD&E) provides Acute and Community services across Exeter and East Devon serving a population of more than 450,000 people. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team and be part of delivering a high quality therapy service to our communities in Honiton, Ottery St Mary and Cranbrook (HOSM).

We work in a beautiful part of Devon with pretty villages, great communities, lively towns and all close to the city of Exeter and the stunning Devon coastline.

We are a friendly, supportive, dynamic community therapy service that works in partnership with our health and social care colleagues and has strong links to primary care and community partners.

We are looking for a band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our team. This is a substantive post for 30 hours a week.

You will be part of the community rehabilitation team and will also have the opportunity to be involved in urgent community response.

We are currently involved in the implementation of the National Ageing Well Programme which means that we will be able to provide services to our communities on a seven day a week basis 8:00- 20:00.

We are looking for someone with an interest in working in the community, is able to work flexibly, can prioritise workloads in response to changing demands and enjoys team working.

You will be working with adults of all ages promoting healthy lifestyle, independence and rehabilitation, as well as reducing hospital admissions, supporting and facilitating hospital discharge. Interventions are provided on a 1:1 basis and also through therapeutic group programmes. You will be working closely with other team members and support workers to provide an excellent evidence based service. There is training available to enable your development in the role and support from other team members and team leads.
