Key aspects of the role:

You will lead and deliver clinical procurement projects, ensuring the procurement service is valued and trusted by our customers, acting as a critical friend, and providing expert procurement and project management support.

  • The focus of this role will be to support the delivery of the clinical procurement service, providing strategic and operational procurement advice and to ensure projects are legally compliant and developed in line with National guidance. 
  • Leading on specific projects within a portfolio of projects and programs that deliver high value, improved patient care and cost efficiency savings across the customer base
  • To provide specialist training to customers on the implications of procurement legislation and what they need to consider when making commissioning decisions
  • Carry out appropriate market analysis to identify current market performance, the main features include the characteristics of the demand and supply of the market
  • Provide specialist procurement expertise and product/service specifications to ensure procurements and supply chains demonstrate optimum service delivery. Incorporating risk management philosophies
  • Deliver against key performance indicators, meeting all customer objectives and produce significant results within key markets

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Professional qualification in the field of procurement, preferred (MCIPS) Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and supply or equivalent experience
  • Be able to demonstrate you are a results-oriented, metrics-driven Manager with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration, development, and compliance
  • Previous contract monitoring and data analysis experience
  • A strong work ethic, allowing the incumbent to work closely with members of the team
  • In-depth vendor & supplier management experience, ideally gained within public sector procurement
  • Business acumen and the ability to influence and manage commercial opportunities across the continuum of care and multi-organisations within complex networks
